Connecting the Dots

Understand

Clubs and Councils often approach me with a challenge or issue they are facing, a desire to do something a little better or an opportunity that has presented itself. I am a great believer that people have the answers, they are the knowledge experts within their patch. However, sometimes they are too close (to see the dots clearly), have been doing things the same way (dots set in stone) or not sure what needs to be done first (too many random dots).

Connect

I build from the ground up, listening and working through possible options and solutions, personalised for your club or group. With my expertise, my role it to help identify what is needed, and then a logical process and some positive actions (to connect the dots). It will be a team approach, as there is no one individual who has the magic key. Your club or group will have a clear and transparent action plan on how to progress and a realistic time frame for busy volunteers.

Enjoy the Process

Most sport is delivered by wonderful volunteers, whose contributions are immeasurable but whose time is precious. So it is essential, that whatever is going to happen, it must be enjoyable. If you enjoy what you do (paid or unpaid) it will rub off throughout your club, your networks and yourself.

Celebrate

It is important that as club you celebrate what you have achieved. We aren’t good at this bit but by sharing your results and successes, you will inform, educate, enthuse and acknowledge. Research has shown that when people are connected, engaged and enjoy the experience amazing things can happen. A simple pat on the back, smile or thank-you can go a long way.
